Player Characters have a pool of Conviction, which functions like Action points. All PCs get 6 Conviction. Conviction is replenished whenever the party has a night of complete rest.
Conviction can be used in the following ways:
1 Roll an extra d20. Keep the highest. This must be declared before you roll.
2 Re-roll a d20. This may be declared after rolling.
2 Take an extra move action. This can only be used on your turn.
3 Take an extra standard action. This can only be used on your turn.
In addition, the player may offer to spend a point of conviction to perform special or out-of-the-ordinary actions. These uses are up to DM approval.
Vice and Virtue
At character creation, the player selects a Vice and a Virtue for their character. If the player role-plays their character in accordance to their Vice or Virtue, they may regain Conviction. If a character acts in accordance to their Vice, they regain one point of Conviction. This can happen once per in-game day. If a character acts in accordance to their Virtue, they regain all of their Conviction; this can only happen once a game session. Below is a list of default Vices and Virtues.
Charity, Faith, Fortitude, Hope, Justice, Prudence, Temperance.
Envy, Gluttony, Greed, Lust, Pride, Sloth, Wrath.
